Felt Gratitude Tree

As a mom of two little ones I love to celebrate each holiday by creating or making something special with my children.. This year to celebrate Thanksgiving I discussed the meaning of Thankfulness with my 4 year old, Will. Once he was able to tell me about all of the things he was thankful for, we made a list. We then placed those words onto felt leaves that he could take on and off of his felt tree. This was such a fun activity for us to do together and he loves decorating his felt tree over and over again. If you’d like to recreate this felt tree with your child simply enter your email to have a copy of the pattern sent directly to you inbox.

First

Start by printing the pattern that should have been delivered to your email from me. If you haven’t done so already, you can enter your email above to have one sent directly to your inbox.  To print the pattern, download and open the file in Adobe Acrobat Reader. Select poster to print the image at its full size.

Next

Lay out the pieces of the tree and cut your pattern. Once the pattern is cut, tape it together with scotch tape

Then

Tape your pattern on top of your felt or use pins to secure the tree to the felt. Cut your tree.

Once your tree is completely cut, attach it to your wall with your velcro  command strips. The rough part of the command strip sticks extrememly well to felt so that should be the only half of the strip you need

After your tree is hung up you can begin to cut your leaves using your leaf pattern template.

Finally. use either felt markers, or attach vinyl words to your leaves.
