I’m Melissa, the mom behind Beautifully Being Mom. I created this space as a place for myself to record and share moments of our lives and also as a way to connect with other moms. I believe in very few things as much as I believe in motherhood. Motherhood is a force that unites women through this beautiful and common experience we share as mothers, and while messy and exhausting it is inherently and utterly beautiful.
A Little About Me
I’m a stay at home mom with two littles, Will and Alice, and have been married to Dr. Doug for almost 5 years. After 3 adventurous years of living in Hawaii we have settled close to where I grew up in Southern New Jersey.
Pre babies, I earned a Bachelors Degree in Communication Studies from Widener University and had done a year of Law School before following Doug to live in paradise on Oahu.
Fun Facts
- I’m a former pageant girl and competed in pageants for many years before getting married and the big move to Hawaii.
- I have competed at the state level for Miss America three times.
- You may recognize me and Doug from the Say Yes to the Dress episode “Always A Pageant Girl.”
- Doug and I want 5 children.
- It’s my dream to own a giant conversion van.
