When we found out we were expecting a third baby we were thrilled! I had always dreamed of announcing a baby at the happiest place on earth. Never in a million years did I think the stars would align for us to make a Disney baby announcement happen. As it turns out, dreams do come true!
Telling Doug
When I first told Doug about our new baby I presented him with four tickets to Disney World that I had printed off the computer. He knew about my little (not crazy at all) dream so he immediately asked if I was pregnant. Of course he was ecstatic about the baby. He however was not so sure how we were going to pull off a last minute Disney trip for a Disney baby announcement – honestly neither was I.
The Plan
After some crazy arranging of schedules, planning with my travel agent, Christy, (whom I immediately called when I saw two pink lines), lots of luck, and a little help from Disney* we were all set for our trip. We made our way down to the Magic Kingdom and teamed up with Hey Team Kelly for this magical announcement.
A Surprise for the Kids
We decided early on that the entire trip and baby announcement would be a surprise for the kids. Honestly, they were one of the main reasons I wanted to do the Disney baby announcement in the first place. I wanted to surprise them with the happy news in their favorite place. I mean, Disney is the happiest place on earth!
That Morning
The morning of the announcement was so exciting for the both of us. The kids had no idea why they were dressed with shirts that had the numbers 1 and 2 on the back. We knew we were about to change their lives forever.
The Moment We Had Been Waiting For
The moment finally arrived. We walked down Main Street USA to the garden area in front of Cinderella’s Castle. The kids excitedly opened the red box we had brought along to see what surprise awaited them. Inside the box was a baby onesie with a sparkly “3” on the back, a baby mickey hat, and ultrasound pictures from Wonder Time LLC. I’m not sure Alice totally understood but Will was so happy to be having another sibling!
We spent the rest of the day doing our favorite thing, spending time as a family in the happiest place on earth!
